Why is the owl special to me?

I knew I was going through a shift, and I was searching for answers. I felt lost and alone and, to be honest, I had nowhere else to turn too except the universe for answers. I was receiving signs but I didn’t trust in them.. My wife and I had been going to marriage counseling for seven years. We both knew it was over. At this point, I was so emotionally and physically drained. I was clinging to what was no longer healthy for me.

On July 23, 2019 at 9:03 PM, the final sign appeared. I had just left a marriage counseling session and asked the Universe if it was time to walk away. I remember crying on the ride home and crying out for help. I continued driving home and pulled off the main highway onto a side road. As I turn down the road, the largest bird I have ever seen in my life flies down in front of my car (windshield height) and leads me down the road. The wing span had to be at least 5 -6 feet long and it just glided down the road effortlessly. This bird had the largest wingspan I had ever seen. It led me down the road about a quarter of a mile and flew up and landed on a telephone pole. I pulled over and got out. The whole time I’m thinking, what kind of bird is out at 9;00pm at night in the dark? I get out and walk up to it. It has its back turned to me. I walk around and see its eyes glowing in yellow. I pulled out my phone and began to take photos and zoom in and realized it was an owl. I took a few more pictures and all of a sudden the owl flew right at me. I ducked down at the last minute. The owl flew so close, I could feel his feathers hit me in the face and ear. Then he flew off into the night. I got home and then just sat in the car. I had never seen anything like that. I walked in and immediately my wife and I started to argue. I realized very clearly that I do not want to do this anymore. As soon as I thought that she said it was over. I said I agreed and walked into my bedroom.

The next morning I was awakened by the hoot hoot sound in my backyard. It was so loud I had to come outside to see it. It was as if it was saying “Do you believe me now?” Owls are nocturnal so I was also amazed to see it in daylight. This day forever changed my life and is what made me surrender and trust the universe.

The Owl represents wisdom. Most of us know this. The Owl also represents tuning into your intuition and transformation of the intuition. In shamanism, it is also seen as the feminine energy, the moon, mystery and magic. How can feminine energy relate to me, a man? We all have the feminine and masculine energies inside of us. When we FEEL deeply, we tap into the feminine energies at the rawest space. I had been tapping into that space and my energy called in this Owl.
